What medicine is there to put on a fever blister?

Put some salt on your moistened index finger and press it on to the sore for a minute twice a day for 2-3 days!This should help! Any Suggestions here?

    I did a combination of what I found on the internet: put ice on it to immediately unswell, then moisten a Q-tip and apply salt with it, rinse with Listerine and do it about 3-4 times as soon as you notice it coming on. Then apply Abreva.
    It was gone in 2 days, amazingly so.
