    I’m considering residing a 1300 square-foot house, D.I.Y. For which would the materials be more expensive- cedar shingles (squared & rebutted) or cedar clapboard? I also have a friend who resided her house with a new clapboard material, similar to cement board.Opinions?

    I am installing shingles (wooden) on a corner and can not figure out how to cut the stained shingles. The shingle is not squre and that is the main problem.
    One online manual sugested we complete the corners and then trim or fine tune at the end of the job. Now how in the, would we do that?

    Use standard 30 yr shingles and tear off one layer of roofing(Original roof on a 2 story house that is 13 years old). Lay new tar paper etc. Medium pitch house that roof is walkable.
