How long does it take for a STD to show up in the body?

It depends on the STD on how quick it can be detected! HIV/AIDS can take 6 months for it to show up! Herpes can be within a week! Any Suggestions here?

okay!!!!! more then likely guy number 1 did! there is no doubt in my mind that he gave it to you! Being that you had type 1 already you can further infect your self and spread it else where! Your first guy is a jerk for not wanting to be tested! its his own damn health! If u had any kind of sex with doug, protected or not!!!u could have still passed it on to him!!!! You stated early in your writing about guy 1, that he had herpes so whether he will get retested or not you should know that he gave it to you! But dont worry about that guy! Get doug to a free clinic which is located almost anywhere (no insurance) needed!!!!and they give prescrptions for the drugs needed if he is tested positive! And educate you both on your std because you seem confused and misguided!!!!!good luck!

If you are having std symptoms soon after exposure, you can still go to the dr for a much longer period before your body produces antibodies (the things that tests look for.) Some STD's will appear very soon, and some take time to show up.
