The firing order is 1 6 coil pack wire lugs should be numbers 2 4 and 6. The rear 1 3 and 5. Backfiring could be caused by the plug wires being on the wrong plugs. It could also be a bad plug wire or wires. I’m curiouse why you needed a new engine. Did you find the cause of the original engine to fail. If the root cause of the original engine failure isn’t corrected your new engine could be damaged by the same thing. Another thiught and this is common. Have you checked for vacuum 5 4 3 2. #1 cylinder is the front left and even numbers on the back. I believe the coul pack. Odd numbers on the left right bank from front to is numbered but the front leaks? Good luck.
