A form of mechanical pencil was found in 1791 on a Navy ship that had been shipwrecked. In 1822 Sampson Mordan and John Hawkins received the first patent for the refillable and lead mechanical pencil.

    Seriously, why?

    Pencils are better in pretty much every aspect, especially if they are mechanical. Yet we are expected to use pens for formal things.

    Any particular reason?

    I often wonder, how did the creation of the computer come to be? How can people be so possibly smart to create something like the computer? How did they do it? I mean, think about it, could you make a computer? So how did they do it from scratch??

    americans invented anti gravity pen but russians used pencils in space..if i ask anyone whats the problem with pencil they say the sharp objects will goto someones eye..So why not use a sponge cap on it?
