Stalin schemed his way into power. First, he allied with Zinoviev and Kamenev to cover up Lenin's Will. He made Trotsky get dismissed and go into exile. After allying with Zinoviev and Kamenev who were Rightist, he got them dismissed as well. He put his people into the Politburo. Then finally, he said that the NEP was uncommunist and got Burkharin, Rykov, and Tomsky dismissed, which allowed him to take over.

    I know that communism under Stalin was really grim, but do you think it would have been different if Lenin didn’t die, Lenin himself even said he didn’t want Stalin in power because he was so extreme.

    My English teacher said that it was an allegory of the Russian Revolution, but I thought it was an allegory of Stalin’s rise to power (Napoleon rose to power). And didn’t the Russian Revolution take place before Stalin rose to power?
