    Republicans in Congress wanted to remove him from the presidency.
    On February 24, 1868, the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Johnson.
    Johnson went on to complete his presidency because the Senate fell short of 2/3 majority vote.

    Would congress even bother to try and impeach President Bush and Cheney now? Or will more damaging evidence have to come out?
